A Week Sans Butter & Coffee...

Monday, February 02, 2009

my apologies for the weak week of posts that just past. myself, as well as my computer, came down with a bug. all is well now, thanks for asking.

i would like to thank novartis for blessing the world not only with theraflu, but also excedrin migraine; and the darling folks at lofthouse for fisherman's friend cough drops. and big ups to the bear family at celestial seasonings for brewing such delicious sleepytime tea. and to the lovely fellows at trend micro for zapping my computer related bugs. and last but not least, thank you ipod for the peaceful playlist that helped me get to sleep every night.

Chirp, Chirp, It's Bird Time!

Friday, January 30, 2009

ok, ok, so that's the battle cry for the ball state fighting cardinals, but i've decided that i'm going to root for the west bumblefuck cardinals in the superbowl this year. not that i'll pay attention to the game at all, i'm only watching this year to see more e*trade baby commercials. have i ever mentioned that i wanna swipe that little kid? and while we're on the subject of cardinals, i know in the bird world, in their weight-class, cardinals are pretty tough, but seriously? what the fuck is a cardinal gonna do to a steeler? and what the fuck is a steeler?

Soy Sauce Packets & Mp3s [2008 in Tunes]

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

i'm glad that 2008 is almost over, because it's been a really, really long year. i'll spare further details, and just say that i'm glad that i had music to escape to. this album consists of 27 songs that helped me get through the year; some new, some old, some classics, some soon-to-be. in any case, these are the jams that got me through some strange times. many of them you may have heard throughout the year, be it with [your morning coffee] on weekends, or in a listen-up post whenever a song was stuck in my head. this album is my gift to you, i hope you enjoy it.

a few notes on the album- 1) i usually stress myself out when making a mixtape, by trying to put the songs in the perfect order. i didn't this time. i did a bit of shuffling, but for the most part, i let the album make itself. consider it to be organic. 2) i didn't pay much mind to the number of songs that would fit onto a cd, because i put the songs as a playlist on my ipod. if you plan on ripping this to a cd, you're gonna need two. 3) i've already passed some of these songs on to some of you regular-reader types, so i setup the file to download one song at a time, in case you already have some. sorry it'll take you a little longer than it should. and 4) when you click the link below the tracklist, the page has the songs in the same order, except for song #22, because the band's mp3s have chastity belts tighter than a jonas brother and i couldn't change the track name.

I Know You Are, But What Am I? [Really McDonalds?]

Saturday, December 13, 2008

seriously, mcdonalds? i, for one, would rather drink your fryer grease than partake in any of that nasty sludge that you so loosely call "coffee." don't worry about my finances, just keep worrying about fattening up america...

p.s. you're DUMB.

Buy Nothing Day [Increasingly Popular]

Friday, November 28, 2008

"are you ready to sit at home eating leftovers and watching reruns? or catching up on blogs? then celebrate buy nothing day today! it's the day when lefties around the world celebrate being broke by abstaining from capitalism for a day and feeling superior, while the rich run wild on pre-christmas sales. it's a nice thought and many of you would probably theoretically support it, but, you know... sales. this year, however, the anarchist types have an extra incentive: nobody has any money to spend anyhow!"

The Great Logo/Slogan-gate Scandal of 2008.

Saturday, October 25, 2008

by now, you've probably heard some of the unexpected (and frankly, misunderstood) hoopla over the changing of the pepsi logo. and now the best buy logo. and who can forget the changing of the walmart logo a few months back, making it resemble the people that work there? (assholes.)

now molls has been working on adjusting brand slogans for possible relaunch. her new take on dave & buster's had me pissing my pants.

DAVE & BUSTER'S: "Instead of staying at home on a Friday thinking about whoever your ex-boyfriend is currently fucking, go play pool with strange men who are missing teeth and remind you of that 20/20 episode that you saw about meth heads and how sometimes they sip bottles of trucker's urine they found on the side of the freeway hoping that there are enough meth remnants to get them back on that sweet, sweet high."
