2009: The Year of the Ox Veal

Thursday, January 01, 2009

because apparently there's a shortage of rats (wtf!?!) and oxen in japan:

A calf (L) and a hamster (R) are displayed during a ceremony held to mark the passage from the Chinese 'Year of the Rat' to the 'Year of the Ox' at the Sunshine International Aquarium in Tokyo on December 26, 2008.
this also makes me wonder, why do the japanese celebrate the chinese new year, when they spend the entire year trying to prove to everyone that they couldn't be more different than the chinese? makes me wonder.
